HAVE YOUR SAY ON NEW PLANS FOR ST.CATHERINE'S PLACE, AT THE HEART OF BEDMINSTER'S REGENERATION
Firmstone is proposing to build new homes and create vibrant new public spaces at St. Catherine’s Place in East Street, Bedminster.

We have appointed a new Bristol-based professional team (Stride Treglown and CSJ Planning) to review every aspect of our previous plans to regenerate the site and are pleased to announce that we are starting afresh. To help us and them, we would like your opinions on the redevelopment of St. Catherine’s Place and the role it can play in the wider regeneration of East Street.

The new plans will come with the same aspirations to create a place that people will love to live. They build on the success of Catherine's House and represent the only opportunity to regenerate this run down site and contribute positively to the regeneration of East Street and Bedminster.

UPDATE – 28 October 2020: We have now submitted our planning application to Bristol City Council.

Thank you to everyone who engaged with our pre-application consultation. We received some great suggestions and incorporated as many of those as we could into our final plans. We have now submitted our planning application to Bristol City Council.

Our final plans incorporate significant changes from previous proposals for this site, including:
  • Significant reduction in the height and massing of buildings on Dalby Avenue
  • “East Street First” approach to retail regeneration
  • Increased amenity space for residents
  • Increased landscaped public open space, including a new pocket park on Dalby Avenue
  • Creation of Mill Lane Greenway, a new landscaped open air pedestrian route linking Bedminster Green with East Street
  • Full compliance with Bedminster Green Framework
  • Increased proportion of dual aspect homes within the new development
  • All new homes fully compliant with space standards
  • Landscape proposals include references to the site’s industrial heritage
You can comment on our plans during the Council’s statutory consultation on our planning application which can be viewed on the Council’s website here. You can also continue to send us comments and suggestions via our interactive map and feedback form.
